UGANDA : Koma leads Oilers fight back

KAMPALA- Coach Mandy Juruni had asked his City Oilers team to improve mentally and play as a team after Friday’s 74-65 defeat to UCU Canons.
On Tuesday though, none of that was greatly required as the champions responded with a comfortable 62-48 victory over struggling Ndejje University Angels on a wet and chilly YMCA Court.
Ben Komakech, who managed a paltry four points against UCU countered that performance with a game high 20 points for the Oilers whose dominance was not reflected in the score sheet. Kami Kabange who was never required to be at his best added nine points and Jeff Omondi seven as Oilers improved to 15-3.
For Ndejje, meanwhile, this was a 12th defeat in 17 games for Walker Obedi’s side who play Sharing Youth next week. The two along with Charging Rhino and Vegetarian and separated by three points seem locked in a four-way battle for the final two playoff slots.
Geoffrey Soro and Jonah Otim top scored for Ndejje with 11 points apiece while Francis Tumusiime added nine.
