KENYA : Western Delight Stop Mennonites At 'Upper'

WESTERN Delight nipped Mennonites 42-3 in a women's premier league clash at Upper Hill School.
The Kakamega-based girls who had lost 45-35 to Kenya College of Accountancy University (KCA) trailed 25-19 at the break and took the last two quarters 23-14. Celia Okumu managed 14 points while Hilavi Ayodi scored 11 for the visitors. Scovia Mola sunk eight for the losers.
In the men lower division matches, World Hope had a super weekend, bagging maximum points from four matches as the hit Mount Kenya University (MKU) Eldoret. Africa Nazarene University (ANU) fell 61-67 to MKU Kakamega while Lakeside atoned for their Saturday loss with a convincing 64-48 thumping of Parklands Baptist. Pac University lost 55-56 to Woodley Knights and 55-7 to MKU in the Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) league match at Railways Club.
MKU Nairobi hit All Stars 47-46 and Peter Kimathi scored two foul shots as Old Pirates dimmed Multi Media University (MMU) 41-40. Mary Chepkoi hit a last gasp shot as Jomo Kenyatta Univerisity of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) pipped ANU 38-37.
Meanwhile, KPA beat visiting Nairobi Aviation 80-47 in a Kenya Basketball Federation league at their Makande Gymnasium. The port city won all the four quarters-- 19-08, 18-11, 25-17 and 25-17. Samuel Ocholla top-scored with 13 points with Martin Kitonga posting 12 points. Aviation's Job Byron and Franklin Delano played a key role for the losers posting 12 and 10 points respectively despite falling short.
