KENYA : Mennonites Sides Drop Out of Premier Leagues

The Eastleigh-based self sponsored sides are among the six teams that have been relegated from the top tier league after the completion of the regular season last week.
Mennonites amassed a total of 19 points from 22 games and are placed last according to the final standings released by Kenya Basketball Association (KBF) fixtures secretary Joseph Amoko yesterday. The other team to drop from the top men's tier are sole team from Rift Valley--Nakuru Club who had 23 points from 22 games.
Mennonites women's side bagged 19 points same as NYTA Shimba Hills from 22 matches while Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University and Parklands Baptist have been relegated from Division One.
They have 25 points each. Amoko said KCA and Baptist will move down to the Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) Provincial League and two teams will fill their place after the next month's play-offs in Mombasa.
"We have already notified our branches that the Mombasa play-offs will determined the two teams to move up. We expect 16 participants with NBA bringing in six and Coast four," he said.
NBA play offs semi finalists Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture an Technology (Jkuat) Juja, Baraka Xtreme, Mount Kenya University (MKU) Thika and Dankind Academy will travel for the tournament.
The other two will be determined after classification matches involving the losing quarter finalists Africa Nazarene University (ANU), Barclays Bank of Kenya, Don Bosco and Legacy
