GAMBIA : YMCA Thump GAF in Basketball League

Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) Friday thumped Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) 66 points to 26, in the second round of the Gambian Basketball League. The game was played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Speaking to Observer Sports after the game, the YMCA coach, Foday Singhateh, declared that his team were stronger than their opponents. He said: "If we win (by this margin) it means we are strong. If we were not strong, we wouldn't have won by such a points margin. The players are putting the pressure on me. It is hard work for me now. I have to pick and choose now who is going to play and which first five are going to start because whoever plays, they gave hundred percent, so that means that they are determined to play.
"No, we are not running with the league. It is not yet (at that stage) because we have three more big games to come. We have Wallidan, Brikama, Sport House and even Saints. They play very well against us." Earlier on in the female league, Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) defeated Serekunda West by 22 points to 10.
