Kenya Basketball women premier league champions Eagles Wings are back in training. The team resumed on Tuesday after the long off season break to prepare for the 2013 season that kicks off on Saturday with eight matches in Nairobi and Mombasa.
Eagle Wings will not be in action this weekend as their first match is scheduled for 6th of April away in Kakamega against Western Delight who will be making a trip to Mombasa this weekend to face Shimba Hills.
The team however remains uncertain over the exit of some of their key players who are expected to join Ulinzi Blades that will be making a comeback since 2004. Rabbecca Sarange, Brigit Nanzala and Mildred Akinyi are military officers who could be exiting to join Ulinzi Blades while Linda Nyikuli and Lucy Mwajuma had also been linked with a move to the Ulinzi squad.
The exits however depends on whether Ulinzi Blades will be admitted to the Premier League though fixtures secretary Joseph Amuoko told michezoafrika.com that the team will have to fight their way up to the top from the lower ranks.
Eagle Wings plot to defend both their domestic league title and the regional Zone 5 title in Burundi later in the year.
The full weekend one fixtures as follows:
Div 1- KAA vs. Little Prince (9am), Umoja vs. Terror (10:30am); (Nyayo Gymnasium)
