Espoir will go into their final game of the regular season against Kigali Basketball Club today afternoon at Kimisagara Youth Centre courts hoping to finish with an unbeaten record.

The Nyamirambi-based outfit wrapped up the national basketball league title with a game to spare last weekend. It was their first title since 2004 but if they can see off the outgoing champions this afternoon, they will become the first team to go the entire season with an unbeaten record.
ā€œIā€™m confident my team can beat KBC and end the season unbeaten, and that is our target. Generally, we have had an excellent season and the boys will take that into the final game of the (regular) season,ā€ coach Jean Bahufite told Saturday Sport on Friday.
Espoir, who have struggled to compete with their big rivals APR, CSK and KBC in the last eight season, also won the Zone V championships last year in August in Kampala.
In other matches today, former champions APR take on the National University of Rwanda hoping to win and finish in second position, Kigali Institute of Education host Rusizi.
Meanwhile, the Playoffs which bring together the top four teams in the league are scheduled to start on the weekend of March 2 and 3, by then the four teams would have been known.
