Kenya: Kisumu Lake-Side Kicked Out of the Premier League

KISUMU Lake-side have been bundled out of the National basketball Premier League after missing their weekend's game against Strathmore University at Upper Hill School.
Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) fixtures secretary Joseph Amoko said the self sponsored team have missed the stipulated number of matches and are now out of the running.
Strathmore were awarded the match on a 20-0 basis. According to Amoko, Lakeside have not appeared to honour four of their 20 matches on card this year.
Out of that, they have won only 6 and lost 11. Meanwhile, United States International University (USIU) continued their impressive run in the league after whipped University of Nairobi "Terrorists" 68-46 in a one-sided game.
The "Tigers" had on the previous day demolished national champions Co-op Bank of Kenya 77-67 to send a warning that they are going for nothing short of their first premier league crown.
The losers coach Emmanuel Ochieng attributed the team's collapse to lack of established personnel. "I have been unable to parade my main players due various reasons and that is why we haven't been doing well lately," he noted.
Masinde Muliro University of Agriculture and Technology (MMUST) dismissed Blazers 60-51. The Kakamega-based students recovered from a 77-51 loss to Strathmore University to end the weekend with mixed results--a win and a loss. Kenyatta University "Pirates" beat Trailblazers 73-67 in a lower division match.
