By NOEL ROBERT OUMA

The fifth edition of Basketball night will be played at the Nyayo Gymnasium tonight starting from 6 pm and all teams meeting tonight are spoiling for fights. The first battle will be between players of Nation Media Group and those of Radio Africa Group.
Both teams have set up their squads to show their level of commitment in tonight’s game. The Nation side will be led by Munene Nyaga, Mark Masai, Peter Bwire among other media personalities and it will be under Samuel Mogesi as its manager. Radio Africa will not be left behind. Nick Odhiambo who has requested his fans to call him ‘Baby Shaq’,Sir Jalang’o,Shaffie Weru, Gaetano Kagwe among others but they seem to be under no manager and it will be interesting to see how their bench will be run.

The final game will see Thunder take on Strathmore Blades in a clash both sides are promising to be a must win. Coach Tonny Ochieng’s charges are in no happy mood after their narrow loss to KPA last weekend and have promised to take the battle to Thunder’s own half while Thunder will be banking on their clean sheet against Blades over the past two seasons. Stakes are high in this particular game.
Both teams have lost 6 games so far this season and any further loss will soil their matches to the playoffs.

Ronald Gundo returns after close to a two-month absence and his power and skills will be valuable to the varsity side boasting of composed forwards like Cliff Odhaimbo,Arthur Ameso and Joseph Owino. Thunder will be led by their evergreen guard Griffin Ligare who will do everything to ruin the party for his opponents while James Omune will be out to ensure Blades feel the pain of his three point shots. Charges are sh.200 or self- declared Very Expensive Persons and sh.300 for the VIP.
