Dar es Salaam regional basketball body(BD) yesterday announced Dream team men and women squads for this year’s Intercity Basketball Championship to be held from March 21- 28 in Mombasa, Kenya.

The association’s Director of Public Relations Michael Maluwe said BD management will meet with the selected players and coaches to discus the team’s preparations.
“ We have picked 26 men and 21 women who excelled in the just ended Regional Basketball League(RBA). We will then trim both squads to remain with 12-people squad in both disciplines,” said Maluwe.

Inter-city Basketball ChampionshipThe players in the provisional squad include Frank Kusiga, James Brown, Charles Makene and Mkumbo Mgendi (JKT), Cornell Joseph, Bernadicto Mkangala (Chui), Frank Agustino, Gilbert Batungi, Stephen Athanasio and Haleluya Kavalambi (ABC) and Gerald Baru, Lusajo Samwel, Naftali Msogoti (Oilers).

Others are Andrew Ikunguru, Mohamedy Mshale, Claudio Kisanko (Pazi) while from Savio there are George Tarimo and Mohamedy Yusuph.

Vijana City Bulls have produced Sylvian Yunzu, Dotto Zephania, Sunday Matondo, Alphael Kisusi, Antony Jeikanga while Alex George and Samwel Sige are from TZ Prisons.

Maluwe named the women team’s players as Nina Mliga, Zakhia Kondo, Jasmin Bablia, Esther Nelson, Amina Ahmed (DB Lioness), Grace Thomas, Neema Emanuel (Polisi Dar), Lucy Agustino, Angela Ignas, Faraja Malaki, Jabu Shaban, Grace Mugyabuso, Annomisiata Antony AND Jackline Shemeza (Jeshi Stars).

Others are Nelly Anyingisye, Sheilla Kibwana, Levina Julius, Evodia Kazinja, Lulu Joseph (JKT Stars) while Asha Iddy and Fanuna Yasini (Cargo Ladies)
