A1 Challenge stretched their winning streak in the MTN-Fuba National Basketball League to four with a 145-35 annihilation of Amazon Rhino at YMCA Court, Wandegeya on Saturday evening.

Mavita Ali scored a game-high 33 points while Charlene Karungi and Agnes Nantogo added 21 and 15 points respectively as A1, losers in the last three women’s finals, ran riot outscoring Amazon 29-7, 35-15, 32-4 and 49-9 in all four quarters. Amazon’s Lillian Zawedde with 16 points had a different game from her teammates.

Ndejje University Angels edged Knight Riders 76-72 in the battle of newly promoted sides in the men’s Division I. Collin Mukiza (27points) and Rogers Odiama (16) combined for 43 points to deliver the University across the line in a tight game. Donald Ssali sunk 20 points for Riders who beat Ndejje 3-2 in last year’s Division II play-off finals.

Former champions Hared Sky Jammers continued their quest to return to the big time with a 72-42 win over TLC in a Division III game. Berkeley High held off St. Michael 58-54 in the battle of schools.
