TANZANIA : City Bulls in RBA League action today

By Suleiman Jongo

After registering their first win against Hoop Life last weekend, former East and Central Africa champions, Vijana (City Bulls), will today be looking for more points as they take on PT Stars in the Dar es Salaam Regional Basketball (RBA) Kili league.

However, Vijana who are the RBA reigning champions, should not expect an easy ride as little known PT Stars will also be looking for their first victory in a match to be held at the National Indoor Stadium in the city.
Vijana's traditional rivals, Pazi will today face newly promoted, Crows. Pazi, who are one of the oldest clubs, had a bad start after losing two opening ties at the hands of the Tanzania Prisons and the Army Basketball Club (ABC).
They will today have a big task to keep their campaign firmly on track.
One of todays attention-drawing matches will be between ABC and JKT.
ABC , who are inspired by experienced players such as a three-point wizard Haleluya Kavalambi, will probably play desperately to maintain their winning spree.
The same situation will also apply to their opponents, JKT, who bagged three points from their last week's 80-38 victory against Mgulani.
JKT, who eluded the championship last year, are boast experienced and gifted players like a towering Franklin Simkoko in their ranks.

Another match of the day will see the Tanzania Prisons Queens battling it out against Cargo Ladies in a women's match, billed to be tough and exciting.
Mgulani will also face the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) Outsiders. The lucrative league has been organised by Basketball Dar es Salaam (BD) and sponsored by the Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) through their Kilimanjaro beer.
