Joseph Ikong will be hoping to maintain his form as Sadolin Power face Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono in an MTN-Fuba League game at Lugogo Indoor Stadium tonight.
Power are on 17 points, one behind Canons on the ten-team table and can dislodge their opponents with victory tonight.
But the absence of Isaac Afidra could prove costly for the 2000 champions as the race for play-offs hot up.
“I believe Power can handle any challenge without me. They can even make the play-offs despite my injury,” Afidra told Daily Monitor yesterday.

Canons, who sailed through last year’s regular season without defeat but shockingly lost to Falcons in the semifinals, are no longer the invincible side they used to be. Yet they are still playing without Kenyans Eric Nyamai and Phillip Odur. But Ivan Enabu proved a match winner against Falcons last week and will be the key man for the Mukono side today alongside Adams Njoroge.

Elsewhere, in one of the games played Wednesday, Michael Opolot scored 11 points and Henry Mugisha added nine as KCC Lions recorded their second straight victory against fellow relegation candidates Crane High School. Phillip Wakimwero got 12 points for the now bottom-placed Crane High. A-1 Challenge are unbeaten in the women’s category after twelve games.
