TANZANIA : Dar basketball clubs urged to conduct general elections

By Sandau Olekasikwa

Dar es Salaam basketball clubs should submit their development reports along with general elections results to the Dar es Salaam Region Basketball Association (DARBA) by August 4, this year.
DARBA`s Public Relations Officer, Michael Maluwe told The Guardian on Sunday that more than 20 basketball clubs are yet to submit their club`s development reports including the list of new leaders as well as financial reports.
``We have directed all our clubs in the region to conduct their general elections and present names of office bearers before the end of this month to enable us compile a general report for our sponsors and the general meeting,`` he said.
He warned that clubs which will not meet the deadline would have their incumbent leadership ignored and penalised.
Maluwe said the reports are needed for the SBL league scheduled to take place in October at the National Indoor stadium.
Some of the clubs which have yet to submit their reports are Savio, Oilers, UDSM Outsider, JKT, Vijana, ABC and Cargo.
