NIGERIA : Union Bank humble Chariot, Potters roll over Customs

Union Bank basketball club Wednesday continue its smooth run with an 80-52 points win over Chariot basketball club in the Lagos City league.

The Stallion as the Bode Thomas-based Lagos side is also known went all out from the blast of the referees whistle winning in all four quarters 21-08, 15-13, 17-11 and 27-20.
Not even the presence of Anyebe Alexandra and Abel Baraya both of premier league sides Yelwa Hawks of Bauchi and Customs of Lagos could save the day for the Chariot from losing scandalously.

In the first City league game decided earlier in the day Raptors Academy won the battle of the academies with a narrow 48-46 points victory over Rookies Academy.
Rookies won three of the four quarters but still lost the keenly contested game 09-08, 12-17, 11-10 and 14-13.
The city league takes the back stage from Thursday as the final phase of the Zenith Bank Women league starts today at the sports hall of the national stadium, Lagos with First Bank basketball club sure to carry the day having won all eighteen games played in first and second phases decided in Abuja and Enugu.
And in the premier league visiting Niger Potters roses from the 70-62 points lose to Union Bank basketball club on Tuesday to beat Customs basketball 94-89 in a thrilling encounter.
Potters won the first quarter 26-20 while the Customs tutored by stand-in coach Abba Mohammed raised it game in the second quarter to win by 33-19 points, Potters came back forcefully in the third quarter and the effort paid off as it picked the quarter 37-20 points leaving Customs to roll back in the last quarter 16-12 points for a cumulative scoreline of 94-89 points.
