KENYA : Kisumu to host 2007 EA Secondary Schools Games

Kisumu city has been picked to host this year's East Africa Secondary schools games. Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Secretary-General David Ngugi said the games would run from August 26 to September 2 at a venue yet to be identified. The championships would involve teams from Kenya , Tanzania , Uganda , Rwanda and Burundi who will compete for top honours in football, basketball, handball and netball. In basketball, Kenya will be defending both the girls and boys titles after Mombasa High School and Laiser Hill Academy won last year's titles in Tanzania 's port city of Dar es Salaam . Kisumu is town to Africa 's Largest Lake- Lake Victoria.
