Warriors 54 Power 65

IMPATIENCE coupled with disarray in the last two minutes made sure Warriors bowed out at the semi-final stage of the MTN Basketball League for the second successive season after falling to Power on Sunday.

With two minutes left and scores at 51-57 in favour of Power, fans rallied behind Warriors but things were not going their way. Brian Gumisiriza's foul on Mark Enabu made matters worse for Warriors as Power got the chance to extend the lead by two points. From then on, Warriors lost the much-needed patience fouling both on offence and defence, something that helped Power pick six points on the charity line enroute to victory.

Enabu had a team high 18 points, Michael Karuiki 10, Richard Balemwa 8 and Wilbrod Oketcho 5 as Power got to their second final in a row.
Ronnie Kasewu's game high 23 points were not enough to see Warriors through as his teammates Brian Gumisiriza 11, Stephen Okias 5 and Nelson Wafula 4 failed to measure up to the task.
Power will now face either Falcons or Marines in the best of five finals beginning on Friday.

In the ladies category Miriam Hamala and Linda Tamale combined for 31 points to help KCC Leopards make their maiden appearance in the finals after defeating holders A-1 Challenge 51-45. The game was tightly contested until the last two minutes.
