NIGERIA : D' Tigers Tackle Turkey, Slovenia

The Nigeria Men's Basketball team, D' Tigers will take on their world championship bound counterparts Turkey, Slovenia and Lebanon in a four-nation invitational tournament scheduled to hold between July 26th - 30th July in Ankara, Turkey.

The tournament, according to Chairman Technical Committee of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Col. Sam Amedu is part of the tune up matches lined up for the team preparatory to the FIBA World Championship campaign in Japan.

Amedu disclosed that 15 players selected from the team's second phase camping in Vegas, USA will make the trip to Turkey.

The team, he said will commence its first phase camping on June 17th - 1st July in Dallas, USA with 32 invited players, while the second phase has been scheduled to begin from July 8th - 23rd July also in USA.During the second phase, the team will play 7 friendly games with the USA Dream Team, Puerto Rico, Houston Rockets, Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Denver Nuggets.

The third phase of the camping he added will hold between August 6th - 13th in Dallas, USA where the Sam Vincent lads will play another 2 friendly games. 15 players are expected to make he final selection for the World Championship which hold from August 19 - 3rd September.

Meanwhile, 3 home-based players have been invited to camp along with their 29 foreign-based counterparts. The players are AbdulRahaman Moh, Ejike Ugboaja and Edem Louis of Union Bank.
