ZIMBABWE: Top schools basketball tourney on

NORTHLEA High School will host the Top Schools Unde-r20 boys’ basketball tournament today.

The event is likely to attract over 20 schools.
A round robin competition format has been adopted with the top teams from the pools advancing to the semifinals.
Last year’s winners Petra have confirmed that they will take part as they seek to go all out to return the title. This year’s edition is likely to produce stiff competition as Christian Brothers College (CBC), one of the best schools in the game, have also confirmed that they will be taking part.
CBC missed last season’s tournament.
CBC, the losing finalists in 2003, will certainly want to make their presence felt in this year’s tournament as they have proved to be a hard team to beat in the past years.
Mpopoma, Sikhulile, Hamilton, Founders, St Columbus, Gifford, Msiteli, Milton and Luveve are some of the schools that have confirmed participation in the tournament.
Milton’s will rely on Admire Moyo while Northlea have Killion Ncube and Methembe Ndlovu among some of their star players.
